1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia “Moya”

After starting to get bored with the WRX as a project car I got the chance to drive a subaru powered vanagon. It was love at first drive and now my longest owned vehicle so far at 8 years. Love her so much I even made an IG for her. Named after the living spaceship from the show Farscape.

I wasn’t too concerned about the mechanical condition of Moya when I bought it, since I planned to replace everything and got a decent deal. What I did not expect was how much work the seemingly great condition interior would need. I Found out the entire van front to back was mouse infested at some point, no chewed wires or live ones around, but so many nests, and excrement everywhere. I ended up having to throw away a majority of the interior besides the cabinetry and bleach scrub all surfaces. Everything got replaced with SewFine products, sound deadening, insulation, the works.
